Purpose:
To create a standard of care for residents/patients who are exhibiting signs and symptoms of COVID-19. To ensure client and employee safety.

Process:
- If a client is exhibiting a new onset of any of the following symptoms (by previst screening, or self report), employee must call the RN on call before continuing with any cares:
- Cough or Shortness of breath or difficult breathing, or at least two of these symptoms:
• Fever (of 100.4)
• Chills
• Repeated shaking with chills
• Muscle pain
• Headache
• Sore Throat
• New loss of taste or smell
Call RN to report symptoms
RN to call Administrator on call
- Cough or Shortness of breath or difficult breathing, or at least two of these symptoms:
- RN will review client details, including specific documentation, if needed. If needed call facility specific RN or Administrator to formulate a plan, if not able to get ahold of RN or Administrator call Director. Based on RN evaluation the following may result:
- Call family to explain symptoms suggest testing
- Notify MD and follow instructions as indicated
- If needed stop cares until a negative test
- Communicate with Lead Administrator about what decision was made or requesting assistance in the best course of action
- Lead Administrator will follow up with Director about what measures were taken and why
